It’s about time I posted some photos from our recent holiday to Hong Kong. My boyfriend and I had an amazing week there – it was great to experience a different culture and take in a totally new place – I would recommend it to anyone! A huge harbour separates the various islands that make up Hong Kong, which consist of towering buildings and skyscrapers that are surrounded by hills of dense green forest. There are some amazing skylines and views of the city to be seen, especially from The Peak, as you will see below. We stayed in the Central area on Hong Kong Island which proved to be a perfect place from which to explore all of what the city had to offer. We certainly made the most of each day, visiting so many different areas, including plenty of eating and (of course) shopping!
It took a while to adjust to the Hong Kong climate with a daily temperature range of 27-34°C and 80-90% humidity which is quite a contrast from Scotland! My hair never got used to the crazy humidity so please excuse the frizz. Instead of doing specific outfit posts I thought I would combine my holiday photos into three diary-style posts showing where we went, what we did, and what I wore in Hong Kong.
Here is the first installment –
Day 1 Outfit: Kimono, H&M; Crop Top, Miss Selfridge;
Sandals and Shorts, New Look, similar shorts here ; Bag, Primark.
Concrete jungle meets actual jungle – view from the Botanical and Zoological Gardens
Amazing view of the harbour and city from The Peak, the highest point on Hong Kong Island
Viewing deck a the top of The Peak – in the midday heat!
Colourful desert counters are everywhere
My favourite part of the supermarket – the biscuit aisle
Entrance to the Ladies Market in Mong Kok
Seeking shade in Hong Kong Park
Funny seeing double decker buses and former Glasgow trams on the roads!
Watch this space for Part 2 and 3!
